10 Things I Never Travel Without:

While traveling is exciting, it can be rough on the body so there are certain things I never travel without to make my trips go a little smoother.

The first thing I never travel without is EOS (Evolution of Smooth):

I used to use a different lip balm growing up but almost seven years ago I went gluten free and found out that it was not, so I went in search of a product that provided me that option. That is when I found EOS and I never looked back. At that time, they were not as well known and did not offer as many products as they do today or have as many varieties of lip balms.

The great thing about EOS is that besides having seasonal flavors, they have their staple ones and they are all great at keeping you from getting chapped lips. They also fit well in your purse, laptop, or camera bag. This is one of the first things in my bag when I pack, and I never go anywhere without a couple of them.

L’Occitane Intensive Hand Balm:

I must admit I am obsessed with this stuff! Two years ago, I went to Poland with a lesser hand lotion. With me coming from a much warmer and more humid Atlanta and going to a colder, drier Poland my hands were cracking and bleeding within a couple of days.

Luckily, we were in Krakow and there is a L’Occitane on the main shopping street, Floriańska. When I went in and the young lady saw what was going on, she immediately recommended this balm to me. It corrected my issue quickly and I have been using it ever since. Whenever I get on a plane, I always feel dehydrated inside and out so I always make sure I carry this with me.

Wet Ones:

How many times have you been at the airport and seen the plane that you are waiting for, pull up close to the time you are about to board it? Everyone disembarks it and they no soon have everyone board it. YUK! Goodness knows that the person was doing in the seat before you and you know that all those seats were not properly cleaned prior to you sitting down.

This is where Wet Ones come into play!  Every time I sit down in my seat on a plane, I wipe it down, (tray, seat, seat belt, window, controls and all) before I can get comfortable. I also do this in my hotel rooms. With all the nasty germs, I would never travel without these! Sure, they look clean but you never really know just how clean they are, especially those nasty remotes!

I take my Nikon camera, and have since I was a teenager. I can never travel without one! Today I travel with a Nikon D5500. I love the quality of pictures it takes. If there is bad weather (extremely rainy) I can lock it up in the hotel and use my and a point and shoot, a Nikon Coolpix W100. This compact little camera is perfect for these kinds of situations because its waterproof!

Before Clarisonic, I would wash my face like everyone else, with my hands. I never really felt like I was getting a good deep clean. Clarisonic changed all that! You can use your favorite cleanser with the tool and get a deeper into the pores and feel so much cleaner than before. My skin has more of a sheen to it than it ever and it is smoother. I can’t imagine a day without it let alone I would never travel without it!

The best part is there is a timer, so you don’t have to figure out how long you have to wash your face for, the tool let’s you know when you are done. And if you don’t feel like you have finished, you can start another cycle for another 60 seconds.

My Keith Haring Clarisonic is something I can never travel without.

Samantha Brown Luggage:

It doesn’t matter if I am going out of town on a business trip, for a weekend or to Europe for several weeks, I can’t do it without my Samantha Brown luggage. Sure, it looks good, but it is practical too!

I have a purple wheeled weekender bag, yes wheeled, that fits everything you need and more (even my laptop fits in it!).  It has 2 large pockets, one outside and one inside and a large open space inside for everything to fit. It moves around easily even on uneven surfaces.

My favorite bag of all is my classic red Croco-embossed bag! While you can drag it behind you like a regular bag, it glides so easily beside you as you walk through the airports. The inside pockets are a nice size.  I have never gone anywhere and not gotten compliments on it!

on the back of the tote for your important documents

The tote bag that came with it just slides on top of the handle and stays in place perfectly. The back pocket is the perfect size for you to put a plane ticket, if you need to print it which you usually need to do for international and for your passport. I also like that it is against my body, so it is more secure.

There is a nice size pocket inside the tote so I can put my EOS and L’Occitane lotion in there and the front pocket is where I store my Wet Ones. The inside is so large that I can place my camera bag and travel pillow inside this bag along with anything else that I want to keep with me on the plane and it still fits under the seat.

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkleresist 24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Mask 12 Packettes:

After being on a long plane ride or being some place cold that has its heat on all the time and on high, my skin feels dehydrated, especially around my eyes. In comes Shiseido to save the day! I just put these eye masks on for about 15 minutes, remove, gently tap in and I am set to go. For me, I have found that it gives me a deep conditioning for several days.

Apple iPad:

My iPad is how I keep in contact with the world! I generally don’t travel with a phone but I have all my apps loaded on here so I can talk to anyone I need to via mostly Instagram, and Hangouts.

When I was in Greece, I was able to log into RING and see my puppies playing in the backyard and even talk to them. This made my time away from them more bearable!

I can check emails if I need to, play games, read books, take pics and videos, you name it. I don’t know how I functioned in life before this!! Thank you @reijo29!!!

Neutrogena makeup remover cleansing towelettes:

There are times, like when you are on a plane, when you don’t always have the easiest access to a sink to be able to take off your makeup. When travelling, you always want the easiest and best way to get this off, especially eye makeup and these wipes do the best job! They don’t take up too much space and because they are wipes, and not a liquid they don’t have to go into your quart size TSA bag.

Things I never travel without
These are a few of my favorite things!

Doc Martens Boots:

It is no surprise that Docs are on this list! I talk about them all the time. I have tried all kinds of shoes throughout the years and have never found anything as comfortable as them.  Yes, you have to make sure to get the classic leather (1460), not the vegan (too stiff), and I always put in a new pair of Dr Scholls once a year.  When I go to Europe, I walk anywhere from 12-25 miles every day for about two and half weeks. I would like to see any other shoe or boot meet that challenge! I have not found one yet! Once you try them you will never travel without them either.

Bonus Item I Never Travel Without –

SHOUT Wipe & Go:

It never fails, you are out running around town and go out for Italian or Chinese and end up with food on you and then you must wear it all day because you are no where near the hotel. This does not look good in pictures so what are you going to do? SHOUT Wipe & Go to the rescue!!! These amazing little wipes are beyond amazing! Just pull them out of the package, wipe the spot, let it dry (it only takes a couple of minutes) and off you go on the rest of your adventures.

Yes, there are so many other things I carry with me on each trip, but these are the tried and true items that I have been carrying with me for years and will continue to do so for many years to come.

  1. Never heard of the shout wipe and go I don’t think we have anything like that here in Australia. Will have to research. I wear a lot of scarves lol….so anything that drops down should in theory land on the scarf haha…great post

    1. Shout Wipes are awesome! It never fails that when you don’t need to be wearing your food, it ends up on you. I think Tide has a pen that is similar. Scarves totally work too! Thank you so much for the compliment!

    1. So glad to hear that Lisa! Great minds think alike. 😃😃😃 I highly recommend the Clarisonic! I don’t know how I functioned before it! When I am in the shower and the battery dies, about once a month, I have a first world melt down. 😃 Hope you are out there having a blast on the high seas!!!!!
